TAT AUCTION, SCHOOL TOURS AND FACILITATOR WORKSHOP
Winter Update
Talk About Trees Facilitators met last week to help with our annual auction, sponsored by Oregon Women in Timber (OWIT). In addition to the auction, we helped with Oregon Logging Conference (OLC) School Tours. Each year the OLC tours are coordinated by Forests Today and Forever (FTF) and are sponsored by FTF, OWIT and OLC. Our final day in Eugene was spent on Professional Development, exploring how TAT relates to the Next Generation Science Standards, The Oregon Forest Literacy Program and the Oregon Forest Literacy Plan. These documents are available on this site.
Urban Ag Fest – Talk About Trees is one of many partners participating in Urban Ag Fest today and tomorrow in Salem. It’s always great to see kids engaged in hands-on science education!

More events are scheduled in the months ahead!
Klamath County Forestry Tour for Sixth Graders

TAT partnered with BLM, Oregon Department of Forestry, Fremont-Winema U.S. Forest Service, Winema Hoo-Hoo Club, Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife and Green Diamond Resource Company to provide hands on forest education to Klamath County School District sixth-graders. Students learned about forest products, fire control, recreation, reforestation, soil and water, forest management and tree identification.
Throughout the school year, TAT seeks opportunities to partner with other agencies and organizations to provide high quality, hands-on forest education.
